Our practical tips for your stay in Tyrol
- The best time to visit: is summer (June-September) for hiking and green landscapes, winter (December-March) for skiing and winter sports… obviously!
- Local gastronomy to discover absolutely (YUM!):
- Kaiserschmarrn (typical Austrian dessert). A real culinary gem! And rather simple to reproduce at home. It’s a dessert based on cooked pancake batter and applesauce.
- Knödel (Tyrolean dumplings, savory). At first glance, we wonder “but what is this strange thing?” And then we taste, you know here we are gourmet and curious! Well, it’s very good but substantial! To be enjoyed in winter!
- Traditional Tyrolean schnitzel. We also find this dish in southern Germany (read our article on the must-see places to visit in southern Germany), it’s delicious and to give you an idea, it looks like the famous Alsatian pasta.

This one-week tour in Tyrol is therefore ideal for fully enjoying the natural beauty and the many activities that this Austrian region has to offer. History buffs, hiking enthusiasts, or simply looking for breathtaking landscapes, this trip to Tyrol will not leave you indifferent and perfectly combines both the nature side, landscape and the visit of some must-see cities.
